What if we woke up with fresh eyes every day, and saw it as a new opportunity to learn from but not be branded by our past. Every day has so much potential, just as we have with us, in fact every moment is potential waiting to be realized.
'Life is a moment by moment experience' quote by my father, James Wong I recall my father relaying this quote to me when i was a teenager, and it sat lightly upon me then. But as I've lived more moments it is something that has imprinted itself quite deeply within me. So along with the quote from the wise sage Guatama Buddha, it has me revisiting it. If only we realized how much we can change our own lives by a simple act, change of thought or shift in our perception moment by moment, we could create more opportunities of joy in our lives. BUT HOW....... *Let's choose to slow down the daily rush -filter out what we see as problems, in other words prioritize what we worry about and don't sweat the little things, you know, You Are OK! *Take a child like approach to life-gaze at this life in wonder and in the words of Jessica Malboi 'Make big things out of little things' I know this counters what i said before, but the rule is when looking at the negatives is filter out the little things, and when looking for the positives magnify the little things, for they are in every moment, hidden behind a smile, resting on a flower, spread out over the sunrise, they are everywhere. * Recognise the moment you are living in-u elated or difficult or maybe perfectly uneventful, be in the experience of it with all your senses, soak it up..all of it *Savour it as it happens rather than looking at or for the next one. I recall my son at the age of three, when we took him to the zoo for the first time, he was so excited to see the giraffe, however when we arrived there, he barley landed, literally checked it off his 'Sighted list' and within ten seconds ran towards the lions cage. Now do't get me wrong, i love a lion as much as the next gal, but there was so much to discover right there in that moment with the giraffes., such regal and unique mammals, they take their time doing everything. If we are always rushing to the next moment then we never truly arrive at the present moment. So when you open your eyes tomorrow morning, remember- Open them with child's eyes ready to discover wonder in every new experience as if it's the first time, appreciate each day we have and remember to be present, cherish the details in each second. Mostly, be careful you don't miss them, for these moments are your life.
